Claire Reiss

Program Director

Claire Reiss is program director for NLC-RISC, an organization of state municipal league affiliated risk pools, where she focuses on researching and developing content for the membership. One of her areas of focus is cyber exposure and coverage. Prior to joining NLC-RISC, Claire was with the Public Entity Risk Institute, where she directed its grants program to conclusion and served as interim executive director and as general counsel. She also served as the risk manager for the City of Alexandria, Virginia and as vice president and in-house counsel for a captive insurer's management company. She began her career as an insurance defense attorney in a private law firm. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Washington University in St. Louis, and holds the ARM and CPCU designations.
