Dubravka Romano is Associate Executive Director for Risk Management Services for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) in Austin, Texas, a position she has held for over 25 years.  In this capacity Dubravka is responsible for the overall operation of the TASB Risk Management Fund, one of the oldest and largest risk-sharing pools in the nation. The Fund is a multi-line risk pool providing workers’ compensation, property, liability, auto and unemployment compensation coverage to more than 1,100 public school districts and other public educational entities in Texas.  The Fund has annual contributions of approximately $90 million, assets of over $350 million and members’ equity of over $240 million.  Dubravka supervises a staff of more than 175 employees, an annual operating budget of $25 million and oversees all Fund operations, including underwriting, claims administration, sales and marketing, service delivery, reinsurance placement, financial management, investments, strategic and operational planning, regulatory compliance, legislative advocacy and new program development.

Dubravka holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees from The University of Texas at Austin.  She is active in numerous professional and civic organizations and is a frequent lecturer and speaker on risk management issues facing pools and public entities.
